Requests for Applications for Clinical Innovator Awards (CIA) and Young Clinical Scientist Awards (YCSA) are now available. FAMRI will not be requesting applications for Centers of Excellence during this funding cycle.
Please go to https://submissions.aibs.org/opportunities for on-line submission instructions. On this site you will be able to establish an account that will allow you to submit investigator and proposal information and upload the body of your proposal, your tobacco disclosure forms, and reference letters, if applicable. Your account can stay open until you have completed all the required submissions. Even if you have finalized your submission, you have the ability to change it up until the due date of September 2, 2008 at midnight EDT.
Clinical Innovator Award
This three-year $100,000 per year award is to stimulate novel medical and clinical scientific research studies on the effects of exposure to tobacco smoke and to foster innovative breakthroughs as well as creative collaborations through these grants. Indirect costs of 8.5% are provided.

Young Clinical Scientist Award
This multi-year award is to help prepare and support new clinical investigators, particularly research fellows and junior faculty members, to provide the bridge between the clinic and the laboratory for the critical translation of basic research findings into diagnostic and therapeutic approaches. Fellow awards are for $75,000 per year plus 8.5% indirect costs; faculty level awards are for $100,000 per year plus 8.5% indirect costs; faculty level awards are for $100,000 per year plus 8.5% indirect costs.
